Step 4: Ride the Flush Cut Flat Against the Surface You're Protecting

A true flush cut means the blade rides flat against the surface you do not want to damage. You press the flat side of the blade body against the door jamb or the finished floor, and the teeth on the end do the cutting. The secret is holding the whole tool parallel to that surface.
